Here are a few repsonces to Issues that I been asked about:
Roadworks
Clearly, we need better planning and accountability. For example, it’s outrageous that various projects were delayed to avoid inconveniencing Gina’s commute. The issues with the Washington Bridge didn’t happen overnight; that should never have been a surprise in the first place.
Gun Laws
All gun laws are infringements on your rights — period. You have rights because you exist, not because a piece of paper says so. However, your rights do not include infringing on the rights of others.
Taxes
Let’s face it: the government is a business. And like any business, it needs revenue to build and maintain infrastructure such as roads. The real problem is the enormous amount of wasteful spending. I support an independent D.O.G.E.-style audit to identify and eliminate wasteful contracts. It won’t be pretty — it’s triage at this point. We can always reassess and restart essential programs once the budget is under control.
Wind Farms
These should never have been installed in our oceans. They are extremely harmful to marine life. I seriously doubt anyone fully understands the impact these structures are having. One of the most frustrating aspects is the increasing number of marine mammals beaching themselves — and no one’s talking about it. They call it an “unusual mortality event,” even though it began around the same time offshore installations started along the Atlantic Coast in 2017.
Energy Crisis
There are certainly a lot of factors at play here. One major concern: I don’t support the widespread deforestation happening to install solar panels. Cutting down one of the few natural CO₂ scrubbers we have makes no sense. 🙄
We could massively expand green energy simply by installing solar panels on existing commercial buildings and parking lots. In my opinion, nuclear energy is the only viable path to sustainable, clean power — but that’s going to be a hard sell given all the stigma surrounding it.
